Mercedes Blanco is a Corporate Leader Executive in Global Travel & Hospitality with a solid record on International Sales and Marketing Strategies. She has over fifteen years of experience in the hospitality industry, meanwhile volunteering at SITE, HSMAI, MPI and teaching at several universities.

Bio

Mercedes first began her career in Spain, working in sales and marketing for some of the world’s most respected brands, including AC Hotels by Marriott, PortAventura, Value Retail and Microsoft. In 2014, she relocated to South Florida, joining Maritim Hotels as the Director of Sales. She followed this role by then leading international business development and overseeing sales for Americas as Vice President of Sales for BCV, a RateGain Company.

Most recently, she brought her fifteen years of experience defining strategies and leading international sales and marketing teams to The Hotels Network, joining as VP of Strategic Partnerships in 2021.

With two bachelor’s degrees, two master’s degrees and professional education from IE Business School and Harvard University under her belt, Mercedes brings a high-level of intellect and industry experience to her role at The Hotels Network. Additionally, as one of the founding members of Women in Travel Thrive, Mercedes is actively shaping a brighter future for women in the travel industry. 

Mercedes has been a dedicated member of the travel industry at-large. She is a former member of the Board of Directors for the IE Tourism Club, Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE). Both in and outside of the travel industry, Mercedes is known for having a heart of gold. She previously volunteered with UNICEF and spent more than 12 years dedicated to their global human rights program. She has also volunteered with the Spanish Red Cross and Barretstown, a specially designed camp providing therapeutic programs for children with serious illnesses.
